ASTM UPDATE: The inflatable amusements task group met in New Orleans on Feb. 2, 2017. The task group drafted a set of balloe items for Feb./ March. These are narrowly focused changes to previously balloted sections that improve clarity and/or correct technical specifications.
Topics include: netting/mesh, emergency exits, specifications for vinyl surfacing on ingress/egress/climb areas of slides, GFCI requirements, minimum jumping space examples, and patching/repairs.
24 ballot items were put out to vote by the Inflatable Devices Task Group from Nov-Jan. 19 ballot items passed.
5 ballot items were withdrawn due to persuasive negatives. These will be revised and re-balloted this spring.
