Virtual Bunny Visits Celebrate the Easter Holiday During COVID-19
Along with UltraSound Special Events Inc., our two onsite event brands (Kangaroo Cave and Axe Cave) are dealing with the COVID-19 crisis and have temporarily closed due to the “non-essential” order issued Governor DeWine within the state of Ohio. Both facilities which are co-located with UltraSound took extra precautions to clean and sanitize equipment both before and after use along with sanitation throughout operations with temporary closing individual attractions. Business was great up until the order to close and we hope to return soon with a “Grand RE Opening”.
Due to Social Distancing guidelines, The Kangaroo Cave also cancelled the annual Easter Egg hunt held as a client appreciation event at the cave. Historically, the weather was the main concern and determining if the egg hunt would occur inside or outside was the unknown. The COVID-19 crisis certainly was never imagined! Despite the closing, staff rallied for an alternative and created a virtual alternative and a visit to the Kangaroo Cave website will boldly proclaim we have not forgotten about Easter or providing a reason to celebrate for our clients.
Kangaroo Cave produced a “Virtual Egg Hunt” on the website with colorful eggs hidden randomly throughout each page. To guide participants through the hunt, an “egg tracker” sheet was created as a checklist. With schools also closing, the virtual egg hunt was also created along with a coloring contest as fun activities for children to complete as an online exercise to effectively pass time and color a FUN little project. Participants are also eligible to win prizes for completing the activities when the facility re opens for business.
What we are most proud of are the “Virtual Bunny Visits” also created for children during the COVID-19 Crisis. A registration link is also available from The Kangaroo Cave to request a virtual Easter Bunny visit via video streaming. Local radio stations 92.1 the Frog and FUN 107.1 both partnered to promote and assist with the efforts. Because the daily operations at The Kangaroo Cave and Axe Cave did need to close, the online activities and virtual visits were designed to continue involvement with our customers.
To also maintain a small source of income during shut down, a Go Fund Me link was created to accept donations for the virtual Bunny Visits. With the closing of all bars and restaurants, many small businesses are feeling the effects of this crisis and the support we receive through the Go Fund Me really helps with overhead costs that do not go away although we are closed.
We do offer a sincere THANK YOU to all of our clients that do support our business!
